SPCL TOPICS: SCIENCE, TECHNNOLOGY AND RACE THE COURSE EXAMINES THE SOCIAL, ETHICAL, AND RACIAL IMPACTS OF SCIE AND TECHNOLOGY. STUDENTS WILL EVALU HOW SOCIAL INEQUALITY CAN BE PRODUC THROUGH TECHNOSCIENTIFIC INNOVATION HOW TO IMPROVE DIVERSITY AND EQUITY SCIENCE, AND WAYS TO CHALLENGE CONTEMPORARY SCIENTIFIC RACISM.

Topics in which students and faculty have developed an interest as a result of work done in other classes or as a result of the need to investigate in greater depth Afro-American Studies issues. Topics vary.
